Charming Shelves That Resemble Pieces Of Paper Caught In The Wind

Japanese design studio YOY has created ‘BLOW’, a collection of charming shelves that looks like pieces of paper caught in the wind.

The romantic wind-swept concept was inspired by a Japanese 19th century woodblock print titled Travelers Caught In a Gust Of Breeze in Ejiri, in which a character’s sheaf of papers were blown by the wind.

Each shelf is molded from an A4-sized thin sheet of steel to resemble a piece of paper, and twisted into different plates in which the top and bottom can be used. When the shelves are combined, they form a dramatic scene of a giant sheet of paper flowing in the wind.

With their delicate elegant beauty, the shelves make a pretty statement in any home. The collection is available from Italian furniture company Pianoprimo.
