Photos Of Everyday Objects That Look Uncannily Like Simple Line Drawings

Photo-realism has been a popular artistic trend in recent years—however, Detroit-based artist Cynthia Greig has gone the opposite way with her “Representations” project.

By white-washing everyday objects and outlining them with charcoal, she is able to make these three-dimensional items look just like flat, pencil-on-paper drawings.

According to the artist, this photographic series “explores the concept of photographic truth and its correspondence to perceived reality”. These “hybrid visuals” blurs the line between photography and drawing, creating intriguing optical illusions.
