
Back in 2011, UK-based cooking brand Stoves held a design competition to create a “Made in Britain” logo—according to a poll, such a logo would make it easier for consumers to identify and buy British products.
As part of the competition, they launched a logo for the Made in Britain Campaign, a non-profit organization that is managed by a committee of pro-British manufacturing people. In June 2013, in order to make it more suitable for use across a wide range of products, leading branding agency The Partners was commissioned to redesign the logo.
Inspired by the blue and red Union flag, the new Made in Britain marque could be used by “businesses which sell goods that have been manufactured or have undergone a final substantial change in Great Britain before sale”.
Featuring a bold arrow icon, the logo has also been designed so that the arrow can be shown pointing upwards.
