British chalk artist Julian Beever has been unofficially named ‘Pavement Picasso’ for his amazing 3D drawings on pavement surfaces that spill into everyday life.
Bringing the fantastical into the mundane, a public bench becomes a seat atop a ferris wheel, and a parking lot space becomes the scene of a dramatic car crash.
His chalk drawings are anamorphoses; or distorted projections which appear normal when viewed from a particular angle.
