Gorgeous Hand-Drawn Typography Decorates Stories Collected By The Brothers Grimm

Based in Boston, Massachusetts, Stephanie Schlim’s hand-drawn typographic titles create a sense of wonder as we look upon these books by the Brothers Grimm.

Published by 451 Press, these first editions feature color illustrations by George Cruikshank and Arthur Rackham, as well as annotations that explore the historical and cultural contexts of the stories that were told to the brothers.

Some of the stories in this collection include more well-known ones like Hansel and Gretel, as well as more obscure ones like The Singing, Springing Lark.

It is evident that Schlim put in a lot of hard work for these titles—these books pique our curiosity as we wonder what we can find out about these famous story collectors.
