If you’re thinking of switching careers, you might be interested in ‘Lifetramp’, a website that pairs mentors with people who are looking for a life change.

Launched in February this year, the Polish-based website operates like the free home-stay website Couchsurfing. Users search profiles in their field of interest and if they find someone interesting, they can arrange to meet up and shadow that person for a day. In return, they buy their mentor lunch or dinner.

In an interview with Fast Company, co-founder Michal Michalski said “We want to bring back that thing between people that you really meet and talk with them and spend some time. You don’t only communicate by the Internet.”

Most of the mentors are from Europe and mainly hail from creative backgrounds, but the founders hope it will take off globally. Michalski added that as it grows, the website will probably move towards a payment system in the form of small donations to the mentors in exchange for their services.

Aside from being a fun way of learning about other occupations, ‘Lifetramp’ is also a great avenue to make new friends and network within one’s community.

Head over to the ‘Lifetramp’ website to learn more about it. Would you use such a service?
