“Everybody needs love, Don’t you?”
That was the question posed by fashion designer Si Chan, as he unveils his Fall/Winter 2012-2013 men’s collection called ‘Hug Me’.
In his collection of six designer jackets, is a green puffy jacket that features a row of hands clasping around the wearer—aimed at making him or her feel ‘warm and loved’.
According to Chan, the jacket was meant to show the disconnection that humans often feel from others—and it serves as a reminder that we all could use a little love—even if it’s from an inanimate object.
“In order to make people feel warm and hugged, some of the clothes would be [padded]…to make it look puffy [like] childish soft toys”, explains Chan.
According to Yahoo, the ‘Hug Me Jacket’ is a prototype design, but Chan is planning to produce it in time for winter.
