An Impressive Serpentine Skeletal Installation Appears In A River In France

Taken by David Gallard

No, this isn’t another advertisement for Game of Thrones. Conceived by Chinese artist Huang Yong-Ping, the ‘Serpent d’océan’ is a massive 425-feet installation that resides off the shore of the Loire River in Nantes, France.

Created for the Estuaire contemporary art exhibition in 2012, the structure was designed to look like the skeletal remains of a giant snake or sea serpent.

Depending on the tide levels and weather conditions, the installation may be partially or completely hidden by the water.
