An Anti-Social Networking App That Lets You Avoid People In Real Life

In this age of being connected all the time, it can be difficult to avoid people you would rather not see in real life.

With the app ‘Cloak’, you can now avoid bosses, exes and hypocritical friends. This app is connected to FourSquare and Instagram, and will display the information of people who are nearby. Flag the person you want to avoid and your phone will alert you if he or she is nearby.

You will get an alert if that person is within half a mile, as this is the default setting—you can choose set it up to two miles, just to be safe.

The app’s creators, Brian Moore and Chris Baker, are working to pull more information from other social networks. It is proving to be a challenge as some of them do not have the location data.

Would you use this app?
