Breakdancer Takes Photos Of Himself Doing Handstands At Paris Landmarks

Eiffel Tower

Hip-hop dancer Kapstand takes humorous photos of himself doing handstands at famous landmarks around Paris for a fun series called ‘The OneHandStand Project.’

His technique is called ‘freezing’, which involves stopping one’s body while moving and staying very still. Kapstand started his series seven months ago after moving to Paris from north-east France, and wanted to document his visits to its landmarks on Instagram.

He was inspired by photographers like Murad Osmann behind the ‘Follow Me’ series, and wanted to create his own signature style. The breakdancer never shows his face on camera and is usually shot from the back, preferring to remain anonymous so as to create an air of mystery.

Though most of Kapstand’s photos are taken in Paris, he hopes to take his project global. Looking at his pictures, it’s impressive how he manages to maintain a ramrod straight posture while balancing on one hand all the time, in front of iconic buildings like the Eiffel Tower and The Louvre.

Check out some photos below and follow him on Facebook or Instagram to keep up with the series.
