For her diploma project at ECAL in Switzerland, Chinese product designer Qiyun Deng has created a collection of beautiful disposable tableware named “Graft” that looks just like real vegetables.
Taking inspiration from the material these utensils are made of—a bioplastic made mostly from vegetable oils, fats or starches—the designer crafted each piece to look like a different vegetable.
For instance, the handle of the fork looks like a stem of celery, while an artichoke petal makes up the bowl of the spoon.
“Texture and form in nature autonomously exist with a function that we can borrow to serve the purpose of artificial objects,” Deng stated.
We think that these are far too lovely for just one use.
