The folks at Above Average Productions create a series of parody Kickstarter videos, entitled ‘Thingstarter’, where they poke fun at budding entrepreneurs asking for funding on various projects.

In its latest Thingstarter, it features a couple of designers trying to raise money to give the homeless more gorgeous, handcrafted signs.

‘Shocked’ at the horrible conditions of the typical cardboard signs of the homeless—that are usually flimsy cardboard pieces with “sloppy handwriting” and have “way too much copy”—the Brooklyn-based design duo decided to “tackle the problem head on” by creating more compelling copy and designs.

The parody project, called ‘Better Homeless Signs’, features signs that are ‘punchy’, have a sense of humor and emotional appeal—from sexy-looking ones to one that says “f*** rich people”, and a meme-like one that reads “OMG I’M HOMELESS”.

What do you think: is the video insensitive, or just downright tasteless?
