Sometimes, packaging design can be incorporated into print ads, as this collaboration between Jung Von Matt, Scope Digital Studio, and Julien Canavezes shows.
To advertise for Ricola’s herbal cough drops, Julien Canavezes illustrated cartoon-like illustrations of people in discomfort, strategically placing their necks at the twisted ends of the cough drop wrapper.
Accompanied with the tagline, “Unwrap your voice”, these sweets were distributed to people at concerts, allowing people with possibly sore throats to really do as the tagline said.
The packaging was used again to run print ads, which were seen in Germany.
Simple, whimsical and eye-catching, this campaign manages to make a seemingly ordinary product interesting.
