But what if the Man of Steel actually existed in the real world, where the possibility of rejection and unemployment does loom?
To give the DC comic superhero a reality check, New York-based cartoonist James Grebey imagined what it would be like if Superman actually applied to try to get a job as a journalist.
Spoiler alert: He gets rejected.
