The Nike+ FuelBand tracks how active its wearer is and rewards movement with NikeFuel points.
To encourage people to walk between stations instead of hopping onto the subway for short trips, the sportswear company has created the “NikeFuel Map”, a new take on the London Tube map.
This health-promoting map shows the user how many NikeFuel points they will earn—in other words, how much exercise they are getting—if they decide to walk between stations.
“Urbanist” and walking advocate John Bingham-Hall walked the routes to collect the required data, which is used to create the final reader-friendly map—the makers of the map “planned the routes to not only be easy and direct, but took in the most interesting spots along the way”.
The map is available for download over here—if you find yourself in London, why not take a leisurely walk instead of jumping onto a crowded subway train?
