Online Store Sells Funny Things Ad People Need

Ad people: Need David Ogilvy’s magic pipe to give you inspiration? How about a self-answering email machine to avoid replying emails, and a blow-up twin that sits in meetings for you to buy you some time?

In jest, New York-based designer Stephen Icardi together with the help of writer Catherine Penfold-Waxman, have created an online shop that sells all things people in the ad industry need.

Called ‘Creative Miscellaneous Materials, LLC’, the fictional one-stop-shop sells fictional things that could come in particularly handy, if they were real.

From a “marketing jargon translating parrot” and a “criticism-filtering head gear” to “talent nurturing breasts”—and even an “idea acceptance gauge”—the site is full of things that apparently give you tricks and skills momentarily, and is sure to make those familiar with the advertising world laugh.

For those working in an ad agency that have a fellow colleague’s birthday coming up, these miscellaneous materials would also make great gag gifts.
