Take A Peek Into The Sketchbook Of Guillermo Del Toro

What’s it like to take a peep into the thinking process of an eccentric genius? A member on Reddit gained access to acclaimed film-maker Guillermo Del Toro’s personal sketchbook, and posted 20 of Del Toro’s personal illustrations on Imgur.

The director’s scrawl is mostly illegible, but his dark, fantastic sketches depict characters and snippets from some of his films like ‘The Devil’s Backbone’ and his latest release, ‘Pacific Rim’.

There are also sketches outlining an unreleased project, ‘At the Mountain’s of Madness’.

Del Toro’s contact information was written in the cover, along with the offer of a $5,000 reward to whoever picks it up. This safety measure was instilled after a previous scare involving a misplaced sketchbook in a London cab.

The sketchbook contained ideas behind one of his greatest films, ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’. Fortunately, it was returned to him, and he saw it as sign to take that blueprint to the big screen.

Take a look at his beautiful, gothic drawings and see what you can recognize.
