A Portable Photo Studio That Lets You Take Professional Shots With A Smartphone

Tile designer Dominic Crinson and miniature toy designer Brenna Jensen found themselves hindered by the prohibitive cost of the professional studio equipment they needed to photograph their products, so they created a DIY portable studio.

Much like the ‘Foldio’, the ‘Lightcase’ is an envelope-sized pop-up photo studio that aims to eliminate the need for expensive tripods and lighting equipment. Made of a frosted polypropylene plastic that diffuses light to create reflection-free images, it comes flat-packed and takes only a few seconds to assemble with the help of creases and tabs.

Users simply place the object inside the box and photograph it from above or from the front with their smartphones. They can choose from three backdrops: white, black and frosted.
