Like Macau-based web designer Varun Thota’s ‘#mytoyplane’ series, 21-year-old Swiss photographer Kim Leuenberger has an equally imaginative series titled ‘Traveling Car Adventures’ featuring toy cars in a variety of outdoor scenes.
The London University of the Arts student was encouraged to embark on her project after her first photo of a blue toy minivan and a Paddington bear was well-received on Instagram.
Since then, she has added to her series by amassing a collection of toy vehicles and photographing them in all kinds of interesting locations.
It’s apparent her project is inspired by her love of travel; her artfully-composed images play with perspective and give off a sense of adventure and motion.
Leuenberger loves vintage and classic things “because they had a life and want to tell you their stories”, and hopes to do the same through her photos.
