Comic Sans, everyone’s favorite typeface to hate, has been given a major facelift, thanks to Japan-based Australian designer Craig Rozynski.
Called ‘Comic Neue’, Rozynski described the new typeface as aspiring “to be the casual script choice for everyone including the typographically savvy”.
“The squashed, wonky, and weird glyphs of Comic Sans have been beaten into shape while maintaining the honesty that made Comic Sans so popular,” he added. “It’s perfect as a display face, for marking up comments, and writing passive aggressive office memos.”
The typeface comes in two variants, Comic Neue and Comic Neue Angular, and can be downloaded here for free.
What do you think of the ‘refreshed’ Comic Sans? Yay or nay?
