Based in Sweden, photographer Sannah Kvist has come up with an eye-opening photo series called “All I Own”, in which she depicts Swedish students posing with all their possessions.
The photographer based this series on her personal experience, when she moved to Stockholm with many belongings, but left the city with “an IKEA bag with her computer, camera, and a few clothes”.
She stated that this series features young Swedes who were born in the ‘80s and are less wealthy than their parents, debunking the assumption that the older generation has of young people and their “burgeoning materialism”.
In this case, this photo project shows that it is possible to live with less and makes a strong case for anti-consumerism—without being bogged down by their possessions, these young people are free to choose the lives they want to lead.
