With marijuana now legal in two states and approved in 20 for medicinal use, Studio 360 has initiated a design project to rebrand pot for the mainstream culture.
Working together with branding firm Original Champions of Design (OCD), they designed a new icon, posters, typeface, emojis, and term for the drug.
Calling it ‘cannabiotics’, the redesigned logo does away with the stereotypical ‘green leaf patch’, replacing it with an “abstracted, seven-bladed leaf in purple”. According to Jennifer Kinon, co-founder of OCD, she described the logo as a “very short, rounded Christmas tree, or a smushed asterisk”.
To help market ‘cannabiotics’, they also created several mock products such as a cook book, and posters to be advertised on the streets.
Will this rebranded ‘cannabiotics’ appeal to the mainstream culture? Check out Studio 360 for more information.
