A graduate from Yale, Zach Rotholz has set up a company, “Chairigami”, assembling and selling cardboard furniture.
He has worked at Adaptive Design, a non-profit which designs cardboard furniture for disabled children, which was the inspiration for this senior project—making portable cardboard furniture for college students.
He then set up his own company and his furniture can be found at trade shows, offices and pop-up events of all kinds.
As his furiniture is made of cardboard, which Rotholz purchases from New Haven, Connecticut, this designer is able to design each piece with folds and slots which allow these lightweight and recyclable materials to take shape.
