We have recently written about a mountain mansion built on top of an apartment building, and now a Chinese temple has been spotted on top of a luxury apartment building in the Nanfang district of Shenzhen.
Discovered by a microblogger, the temple is quintessentially Chinese, featuring glazed golden tiles, with dragons and phoenixes adorning the rooftops.
The temple is not open to the public, with modern features like fingerprint scanners and security cameras preventing people from accessing it—the more traditional method of using guard dogs to chase away intruders has proven to be useful as well.
Many residents have made complaints about the structure but to no avail, as no one knows the mastermind behind this grandiose project.
Like the mountain mansion, the temple compromises the integrity of the skyscraper, but it was not as easily detected as because it is partially hidden by foliage.
