A Pirated Version Of The Famous Giant Rubber Duck Appears In Abu Dhabi

Remember the endearing giant rubber duck by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofmanz that took the world by storm last year? It was recently spotted sitting outside the ADNEC exhibition center in Abu Dhabi—except that it is not the real thing.

According to a spokesperson at the Hofman studio, they do not know anything about this mysterious duckie—the original rubber duck is in Taiwan.

This is not the first pirated version of the successful installation—late last year, a similar rubber duck was seen on Dubai Creek.

Considering how popular this yellow duck has been, it is hardly surprising that some people would try to ride on its fame—if you spot any giant rubber duck in your area, it may be a fake.
