A team from Chinese design company Nanoin Design has given the humble scotch tape a makeover that eliminates the pesky problem of having to find the edge when it disappears into the roll.
They created a tape that does not have any glue at the edges, enabling you to lift it up and pull easily. The glue-free edges are marked by thin black lines on the spool for easy identification. It’s also environmentally-friendly as it requires 25% less adhesive during production.
It’s a simple, effective solution to a long-standing problem, and the redesigned tape won a 2013 Red Dot Design Award.
