In his ongoing series ‘Overexposed emotions’, artist David Catá painfully sews the portraits of his loved ones into the palm of his hand.

Describing the series as an “autobiographical diary”, in which his body is the canvas, each portrait represents a person that has made a mark in the artist’s life, ranging from family members and friends to partners and teachers.

“Their lives have been interwoven with mine to build my history, which will end when I [run] out of sheets to write,” described Catá. “The body is the canvas of our life. It reflects our environment and experiences.”
