Taiwanese photographer Will Ho captured some beautiful images of a beach covered in millions of glowing, bioluminescent phytoplankton while on holiday in the Maldives recently.
The brilliant blue light emitted by this particular type of phytoplankton called Lingulodinium polyedrum was due to stress caused by crashing waves and other movements.
