Bizarre Taxidermied Bird Sculptures Adorned With Human Hair And Other Materials

New Zealand-based artist Karley Feaver has a series titled ‘Becoming Otherwise’ that features bizarre sculptures created from taxidermied birds and assorted ornaments.

Using materials such as human hair, gold plated metal and wood, she transforms the stuffed birds into unnatural figures. According to Feaver, she is interested in “nature’s ability to survive in different forms by adapting, adjusting and mutating into an increasingly man-made environment.”
