The exact opposite of the people who are featured on hit reality TV show Hoarders, a woman in Olympia, Washington named Dee Williams lives in a tiny mobile house that measures just 84 square feet and owns only 305 things.
After being diagnosed with a potentially fatal heart condition at age 40, she decided that she wanted to downsize her life and built herself a micro-house on a metal truck trailer—she then drove it to the backyard of her friends Hugh O’Neill and Annie McManus, where it has stayed for the past decade.
Since then, Williams has started a company named “Portland Alternative Dwellings”, “a company that provides resources for building tiny houses to the D.I.Y. crowd”.
