Loving Mom Dresses Up Daughter In Wonderful Hand-Made Disney-Inspired Costumes

We’re no strangers to creative moms playing dress-up with their daughters–just check out blogger Angie and her precocious 4-year-old daughter Mayhem’s paper dresses. Now you can add San Diego-based Angela Bonser to the list.

The loving mom has been putting her sewing skills to work by hand-making wonderful Disney-inspired outfits for her youngest daughter Haylie for the past four years. Some of the costumes include outfits worn by characters like Rapunzel, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, and Giselle.

It all started when Bonser and her family moved to San Diego in 2009 and took their first trip to Disneyland. She noticed little girls dressed like Disney princesses and thought it would be fun if Haylie dressed as one too, and they returned a few months later with Haylie clad in a Snow White costume.

The overwhelming response from the other Disneyland-goers and the Disney cast members, and the opportunity to make Haylie’s childhood years special, encouraged Bonser to start sewing more outfits.

Out of all the outfits, the costume that made the biggest impression was the Mary Poppins one. “I remember when we got to the park. We hadn't even entered yet, but the reaction of all the other people in line was just overwhelming. No one else had ever seen a little tiny Mary Poppins before. That’s not something you can buy. People were just blown away,” Bonser recalled.

With such a vivid imagination and child-like sense of wonderment, we foresee years of dressing up adventures to come for Bonser and Haylie.
