The use of Photoshop to digitally enhance the appearance of magazine models and celebrities has long been a standard in mainstream media.
Responding to this ‘faux beauty’ is French-Hungarian singer Boggie, and her creative music video that shows her amazing transformation from makeup-free to a glamored-up version of herself.
Titled ‘Nouveau Parfum’, the music video shows her being ‘enhanced’ by a Photoshop-like software. As she sings, her wrinkles are slowly removed, her skin gets brighter and makeup is slowly applied on her face—ultimately leaving her ready for "public consumption”.
Directed by Nándor Lőrincz and Bálint Nagy, the music video does a good job in sending a message that puts down the unrealistic beauty standards in mainstream media.
