We last featured Cambridge-based illustrator Lex Wilson for his beautiful “Moleskine Typography”—this time around, we turn the spotlight on his fascinating 3D typography that seems to leap right off the page.
Skilfully manipulating the viewer’s perspective, he creates typographic illustrations that appear to cut into and pops up from the paper on which they are drawn.
These optical illusions are made even more clever by the way the words relate to their deceptively three-dimensional forms—for instance, a piece that reads “Life: A Series of Ups and Downs” features letters that have been formed by stairs.
