A Concept USB Drive That Looks And Works Like Paper Sticky Notes

Two designers, Aditi Singh and Parag Anand, have created a concept for a new type of USB stick that can possibly be the new generation of USB data drives.

Their invention is called dataSTICKIES, and it has already won a 2013 Red Dot Award: Design Concept.

dataSTICKIES are graphene-based flash drives that can be used like paper sticky notes. To use these drives, peel one from the stack and paste them anywhere on an Optical Data Transfer Surface (ODTS), a panel that can be attached to the front surface of computer screens, televisions, music systems, and so on.

Each dataSTICKIES drive transfers data and sticks to an ODTS surface through a unique conductive adhesive. It leaves no marks and is reusable.

The surface of the drive can also be written on.

As our personal use and home devices get more compact, USB drives might soon be a thing of the past and dataSTICKIES might very well be the first glimpse of the future of data transfer drives we will be seeing.
