Just like the photo series by Professor Kevin Nadal, photographer Kim Kelley-Wagner has a similar project, in which her subjects are her adopted daughters.
Her daughters can be seen holding up signs, showing viewers some of the ignorant, hurtful things that people have said to them about being adopted.
She said, “I have tried to explain to my daughters that people do not say these things to be mean, they say them out of ignorance, which is why I am sharing some of them. Words are powerful, they can become tools or weapons, choose to use them wisely.”
