Malaysian artist Hong Yi, or Red, known for her creative flower petal and food plate art, has a new series featuring Chinese New Year scenes created with make-up.

Using lipstick, mascara, nail polish, and other beauty products, she crafts lovely landscapes and images inspired by Chinese culture and tradition, such as firecrackers, lanterns, opera masks, and cherry blossoms.

Hong Yi started experimenting with make-up last August and will be posting a new picture to her Instagram account every day throughout the 15 days of Chinese New Year. Follow her here to keep up with the series.
