Ukrainian heavyweight boxing champion Wladimir Klitschko has teamed up with design studio Monotype to create a new typeface that aims to punch out illiteracy.
Putting his strong fists to good use, he dipped his hands in blue pigment before literally boxing out the 26 letters of the font onto white canvases.
The method used to paint the typeface is symbolic of the project’s desire to fight worldwide illiteracy and help millions of children get an education—Klitschko’s fist-painted letters are digitally scanned to create the font, and are now on sale on eBay to raise money for “A Heart For Children” charity.
The digital version of the typeface is also available for free download on Monotype’s website—donations are welcomed.
