Charming Illustrations Of Famous Artists As Cats

Singaporean artist Elly Liyana has a lovely on-going series titled ‘ART & MEOW’ featuring charming illustrations of famous figures as cats.

Each feline is illustrated in the distinctive style of an artist–‘Vincent Van Cat’ is missing a ear and has the pretty swirly nightscape of Starry Night painted on its face while ‘Jackson Catlock’ is covered in abstract paint splatters. They are also humorously named after their respective artists; Andy Warhol becomes ‘Andy Cathol’ and Edvard Munch is renamed ‘Edcat Munch’.

Liyana has also turned Mao Zedong and Barack Obama into cats–‘Meow Ze-Cat’ is depicted in the style of communist-era China propaganda posters while ‘Ocatma’ is modeled after Shephard Fairey’s famous ‘Hope’ poster.

Check out the rest of Liyana’s meowsome illustrations below and follow her here to keep updated of the series.
