Squarespace’s new make-your-own-logo tool caused an uproar among many in the design community who felt it devalues logo design, but one company has managed to see a different side of things.
B&T, Australia’s leading magazine on advertising, media and marketing, has recreated the logos of famous companies like Facebook and Apple using the ‘Squarespace Logo’ tool. The designs are accompanied by a blog post that raises the interesting question of copyright infringement–“when you are using a standard set of icons, how close are you to infringing someone else’s trademark?”
