Infographic: 50 Fascinating Facts About Chinese New Year





The world ushered in the Year of the Horse on 31 January, and countries all over Asia held celebrations to mark the occasion.



Giraffe Childcare has come up with an educational infographic of 50 facts about Chinese New Year that offers a glimpse into the traditions, superstitions, and customs of one of the most widely-celebrated holidays in the world.



For example, red packets containing money are given to children and unmarried adults for luck, while the color red symbolizes fire which is believed to ward off evil spirits. It is also believed that you should refrain from washing your hair on New Year’s Day as it is akin to washing away your luck.
