For its 2014 Art Series, the New York City Ballet has teamed up with renowned French street artist and photographer JR to create a stunning installation that features large scale black and white photographs of the dancers.

These captivating images show the graceful dancers interacting with huge pieces of white paper—whether laid flat, crumpled or sculpted into shape, this simple prop was used imaginatively to create lovely textures and tell wonderful stories.

The center-piece of the installation is a massive photograph of a human eye that has been molded from paper and outlined by 80 dancers, who have contorted their bodies into various elegant but challenging forms.

Other than being on display during all performances during the 2014 Winter Season, these stunning photo artworks would also be open to public viewing at the David H. Koch Theater from 2 to 9 February 2014.
