Photographer Places Sarcastic Craigslist Ad That Criticizes Working For Free

An anonymous professional photographer in the Boston area has placed a cleverly sarcastic ad on Craigslist.

The ad mocks the problem that many creatives face while trying to find work—the request to work for free in exchange for “exposure”.

“I am a photographer, and since people are always looking for free shoots I assume that they must also do their job, or provide their services, for free,” stated the ad, which turns the tables on the people who come to him with this absurd request.

”Just think, you will gain more experience, and I will put the word out for you and let everyone know what wonderful work you do."

By placing the ad on Craigslist, the “work for free” request appears more dubious—the sarcastic tone also implies that fellow creatives should take a stand when dealing with this offer.
