North Carolina-based sculptor Brad Spencer’s sculptures are made entirely out of bricks. They often feature ghostly ‘brick children’ climbing and interacting with it.
Unlike ordinary sculptures, the artist has to first carve unfired brick material into the desired shapes, take the bricks apart, fire them individually, before fitting the sculpture back together again.
On his choice of such a unique medium, he says, “Brick sculpture can be dated back to ancient Babylon but remains a fresh and interesting enhancement to any building, wall or environment.”
