Witty Zombie Illustrations Poke Fun At Designer Stereotypes

Inspired by the fact that AMC's zombie drama The Walking Dead uses one of their images in its opening credits, photography website Shutterstock commissioned artist Jake Genen to create four zombies modeled after designer stereotypes.

Genen has imbued each design zombie with characteristics of their respective archetype, and the illustrations are a clever play on the brain-dead flesh-eating stragglers and the similar trend-obsessed mindset of designers.

The Working Dead’ features the ‘Vintage Zombie’ who is crazy about “sepia-tone palettes”, “mustaches, eyeglasses, and all things from the turn of the (19th) century”; the ‘Type Zombie’, who is a typography snob fixated with kerning; the ‘Texture Zombie’, who feels the need to fill empty canvases with layers of elements; and the ‘Minimalism Zombie’, whose “less is more” mantra hilariously extends to a voracious appetite for white space and a color palette of monochrome or black-and-white.

Check the rest of the design zombies below and view the full list of their traits here. Do you recognize anyone, or are you someone who fits these stereotypes?
