We previously brought you a nostalgia-inducing photo series that mashed classic album covers with Google Street View scenes.

Artist Halley Docherty’s latest project for The Guardian juxtaposes classic paintings of city scenes around the world with Google Street View images.

The painterly aesthetics of Edward Hopper’s Nighthawks and Francesco Guardi’s The Piazza San Marco towards the Basilica meet real-life modern-day settings in a fascinating blend of history and contemporary life.

Check out some mash-ups below and view the entire series here.
