Creative duo Jason Kreher and Matt Moore from Wieden + Kennedy in Portland, Oregon, have followed up their ‘Schadenfreezers’ with a second collection of existential popsicle GIFs that aim to make your happiness melt away like the frozen treats.
Described as the “strawberry, blueberry and lemon-flavored joy derived from the suffering of others”, these animated snacks deliver a sucker punch to the gut with their depressingly bleak punch lines.
With jokes like “What did the soldier forget? Nothing, not one thing” and “When is a home not a home? When it’s a foster home”, you’d have to be a cold, unfeeling robot if you don’t immediately feel a little sad after reading them.
In an interview with Adweek, the pair explained they wanted to “visualize the awful things we think are funny”, and that “it’s fun to take something innocent and make it profane.”
