Ukrainian nature photographer Vyacheslav Mishchenko specializes in macro photography, and his favorite things to capture on camera are snails.
He shoots them up-close in their natural habitat—on leaves, branches, and flowers. Most of his images show the snails curiously exploring the world around them, while others are slightly more romantic.
Like in one image, a pair of snails can be seen reaching to ‘kiss’ each other, while perched atop cherry stems.
According to an interview with the Daily Mail, he said that his interest with the natural world began when he was a child. He said, “As a child, my father taught me to hunt mushrooms near my home and we would always come across all manner of bugs and creatures.”
“As I got older and my interest in photography grew, I decided I wanted to catch these magical scenes on camera.”
