Japanese artist Makoto Taniguchi has created some beautiful artwork of anime characters that can be viewed from different sides, and still be similarly mesmerizing.
One side of the painting resembles a distorted face where the paint strokes are unclear, but on the other side, the intricately drawn anime character is revealed.
Taniguchi tries to draw viewers into his work by focusing on faces in anime culture. Through this work, he also explores how our minds can turn reality into fleeting images through a different perspectives, making us ponder what existence truly is.
Taniguchi also recently concluded his exhibition at Nanzuka Gallery in Tokyo in March 2014.
