To remind us to never text and drive, the US Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has released an intense, thought-provoking ad.
Targeted at youths, the 30-second-long ad is actually quite straightforward. It shows several teens in a car driving down a road. The driver gets distracted by her phone, and all of a sudden a truck rams into the car at a junction.
The ad ends with the message, “U drive. U Text. U pay,” with the hashtag ‘#justdrive’.
