The world is embracing 3D-printing as the production method of the future, and people are creating a wide array of things with these high-tech machines—including 3D selfies, clothes and even houses.
“The Micro” is a compact 3D printer that launched just a few days ago on crowd-funding site Kickstarter—within the first 24 hours of the campaign, the project garnered more than US$1million from supporters. Considering that the initial funding goal is a mere US$50,000, this is very impressive indeed.
According to its creators, it is “the first truly consumer 3D printer” that is made to be “intuitive, easy to own and seamless by design”. It uses the innovative M3D software that allows for an “effortless, plug-and-play experience”.
If you want to try out 3d-printing as a way to turn your ideas into something tangible, you may want to check out The Micro’s Kickstarter page—at the time of writing, the minimal pledge for one of these futuristic machines is US$299.
Do you think that the 3D printer would one day become as ubiquitous in homes as the personal computer?
